How we work
Kits Media is a small and friendly website design company located in a quiet Kitsilano neighbourhood. We’re hands-on with our clients at all stages. The people who design and build your site are the same people who meet and work with you.
We’re currently building new sites using “responsive” design, the latest developments in media queries. This means that when the monitor size is reduced, the web page scales down to fit it without any loss of information, and there is no need for separate versions of your site for iPhone, Blackberries, iPad, Android etc. Your site will automatically reconfigure to fit any size screen. Our history
Kits Media started in the 1990s as a CDROM publishing company. As universities moved to the Internet, we began building websites for numerous faculties at the University of British Columbia. In 2001, we began building websites for artists, galleries, small business people and professionals. Many clients have been with us since our early days and are now on their second or third sites as technologies change.
Our credentials
Kits Media is an active member of the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce and has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
The owner of Kits Media, Mia Johnson, is a former professor in the Bachelor of Information Technology program at Kwantlen University. Prior to that, she was instrumental in teaching and developing the New Media program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Recent launches
Recent launches include http://www.nsvancouver.ca – Neighbourhoods for a Sustainable Vancouver – and www.dianefarrisgallery.com. The Diane Farris Gallery site is a 240-page WordPress-based site with 37 image galleries, online shop and blog, all of which is now being updated by one Diane Farris staff member.
